With the special BREYER calender technology, the forces directly flow via the roller onto the coating. The adjustment of the force and product thickness can be defined.
In the case of standard calenders with mechanical adjustment systems between the rollers, part of the force is diverted via the adjustment system and therefore does not make it onto the product surface. Higher line forces are required. The bearings and system are subject to higher loads and the adjustment of the product thickness is often difficult.
At the centre for solar energy and hydrogen research, ZSW Ulm, German industrial companies will develop cells for automotive and stationary energy storage.
